THE 2012 SEASON IS HERE!!



MIXED FORTUES FOR SENIORS .... BUT JUNIORS HIT WINNING WAYS

Both senior teams were in action over the weekend. The 1st's lost at Crompton in a game which hinged on two catches - one taken, one missed. A full report and scorecard can be found on the Results page. The 2nd's won a low scoring game over Crompton by one wicket. This week sees a double header with Rochdale visiting Reyner Lane on Saturday, followed by a trip to Walsden in the Wood Cup.

The U17's finally got their season underway with an overwhelming victory at Saddleworth on Wednesday. A scorecard can be found on the Results page of this site

On Friday the U15's visit Royton. Next Sunday morning the U13's are also away to Crompton and and will hope to make it a trio of victories following the comprehensive triumph over Werneth last weekend. (Details on the Results page)

SENIOR FIXTURE UPDATE

Following the complete wash out of 2 of the first three weekends the League has decided that the games will be re-arranged. As far as 1st XI fixtures for Ashton are concerned this means that we will play Middleton at Reyner Lane on Saturday 8th September, and Unsworth away on Saturday 15th September

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING



The AGM was held in the Clubhouse on Monday 6th February. At the meeting long serving officals Bryan Fletcher, (Patron), George Mottram, (President); Graham Hall, (Secretary) and Derek Casey, (Treasurer) retired. The meeting thanked them for their service and hard work. The meeting elected Stephen Painter as Patron; Alan Holt as President and Martin Frost as Treausrer. The post of Secretary remains vacant, and the Committee were mandated to take steps to fill the role. in the interim Mrs M Heap agreed to act as minute secretary inm order for the Committee to function.

Newly elected mambers of the Committee were David Gandy, ; Geoff Greenop; Linda Johnson; Kirit Mistry; Lee Wallace and Antony Woolley

At the Committee meeting subsequent to the AGM Linda Johnson was elected as Chair and Paul Adshead as Vice Chair.

CLUB HISTORY

The Club celebrated its 150th Anniversary in 2007. Local historians and authors Philip Martin Williams and David L Williams produced our anniversary publication 150 NOT OUT. We have started to make this available on this site. (At the moment we have covered the period from 1857 - 1918). More will be added as soon as time permits.
